23/10/2012

Neighbours say Goodbye

It is easier to love humanity as a whole than to love one’s neighbor. ~Eric Hoffer

Won’t You Be My Neighbor?

27/01/2012
Helping Grandmother Walk

I have a former neighbor that I haven’t seen in quite some time, although have tried to get in touch more recently. I finally received a Christmas card after multiple attempts to reach her, and she wrote how she had been through some trying times in the last few months. As this is also an elderly person, I often have worried about her health and her ability to “get around” in her everyday living. I am making a conscious effort to get some time with her and have a nice lunch, take her on some errands if needed, just spend some time with her, you know, be neighborly.

Life gets busy. Time passes. Neighbors move. There are all kinds of reasons we don’t have time. Make it a point to be neighborly to someone on your block – especially if there is someone elderly who could use some company. You just might bring some sunshine to their day!
