Wednesday’s Word – Benevolent


Benevolent is another synonym for kind.  Dictionary.com defines Benevolent as:

1. characterized by or expressing goodwill or kindly feelings: a benevolent attitude; her benevolent smile.

2. desiring to help others; charitable: gifts from several benevolent alumni.

3. intended for benefits rather than profit: a benevolent institution.

As I watched this story on the evening news this is the word that came to mind as describing Mr. Herbert Vogel, a retired postal worker who collected art from new artists.  His benevolent actions have benefitted a nation.  Watch his story HERE.
