Quote For The Day

12/03/2012

A friend posted this quote on facebook, and I thought it was good enough to share here. What do you think?

Benjamin Franklin 1767

“The best thing to give to your enemy is forgiveness; to an opponent, tolerance; to a friend, your heart; to your child, a good example; to a father, deference; to your mother, conduct that will make her proud of you; to yourself, respect; to all men, charity.”     ~ Benjamin Franklin

  1. Nice…besides given forgiveness to your enemy…I know one should, but I’m not sure that I would be able…Think it depends… 😉

    • Yes, I think sometimes it is very hard. I like this quote about forgiveness:

“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.” ~Lewis B. Smedes, “Forgiveness – The Power to Change the Past,” Christianity Today, 7 January 1983

      • That’s a nice one!! I hope to never be in the position to forgive something big….if I have to I’ll try to remember this quote! 🙂
