Kindness In Sorrow

08/02/2012
We Are Climbing...

What do you do when someone is grieving? It can be an awkward time for those of us who want to care, to do something to comfort, and wonder how the other will respond.  Sometimes it’s just being there to sit, writing a short note, preparing a meal so the other doesn’t have to think about details. When you find yourself in a place to comfort someone else, don’t feel like you have to have the perfect thing to say. Most times the kindest thing you can do is to be available, and give space. Think before responding; your heart will tell you what is needed…

For my sister, who lost her closest friend of many years, today.

“The day which we fear as our last is but the birthday of eternity.”  ~Seneca
