Weekly Photo Challenge: Near and Far

09/09/2012

As we near the anniversary of 9/11 this week I thought this was a poignant reminder of that fateful day, as well as an appropriate depiction of near and far, as you look through the salvaged beams from the World Trade Center to the New York skyline.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Free Spirit

01/09/2012

What more could say “free spirit” than a photo of avid Phish followers? The picture is not great, the experience of watching the fans was priceless!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Urban

25/08/2012

The challenge – to photograph and publish the places where we grew up, something that says “Urban”.  I spent some of my childhood growing up in the City That Never Sleeps.  Here are some photos taken from my recent trip back to New York City:

Weekly Photo Challenge: Merge

19/08/2012

I heard fireworks nearby and decided to take the opportunity to shoot through the trees down the street from my house.  The shots are pretty interesting – one looks like the moon rising through the trees.  This is my version of “Merge”

Weekly Photo Challenge: Wrong

11/08/2012

I love walking through the piazzas in Milan.  Two that are favorites for me are Piazza Duomo (Cathedral) and Piazza della Scala (La Scala Opera House).  During this particular trip there was something very WRONG though, in the piazza in front of La Scala.  Imagine my suprise when I found giant pink snails surrounding the statue of Leonardo Da Vinci:

Yes, an art display, but not something I ever thought I would find in front of one of the world’s most famous opera houses!
