Now, I know some of you are probably questioning the sanity, the patriotism of that title. Here in Colorado though, given the extreme fire danger, it was a blessing to hear people heeding the warnings and bans on personal fireworks, charcoal and other open fires. There were still professional fireworks to be enjoyed (not as many as usual, for the same fire danger), and people found other ways to celebrate Independence Day in Colorado. How dry is it here? 62 out of 64 counties in Colorado qualify for federal drought assistance.
I am thankful for everyone who took the ban seriously….
